Tropical Plants Buyer

Cascade Tropicals is hiring a Buyer to help our team in sourcing high-quality tropical plants. The ideal candidate brings a strong horticultural background, thrives on analyzing data, spotting trends, and using sound judgment to make timely, high-impact purchasing decisions. Attention to detail and an intuitive grasp of what’s happening in the market are essential to success in this role.

What you’ll do:

• Work directly with vendors to source plants that meet our high standards for quality, value, and timing

• Balance availability, freight, and purchasing budgets to ensure optimal plant flow

• Anticipate demand shifts and plan proactively with sales and production teams

• Walk the greenhouse regularly to stay hands-on with plant quality and assortment

• Maintain accurate reports, purchase orders, and pricing data

• Solve inventory discrepancies and respond to quality issues with clarity and care

Ideal background:

• 3+ years in the horticulture industry (tropical experience is a plus)

• Strong skills in data analysis, forecasting, and purchasing

• Proficient in Google Workspace or Microsoft Office Suite

• Excellent written and verbal communication

• Comfortable spending most of the day at a computer

Sales Representative - Oregon Territory (PDX/Vancouver)

For someone who thrives on relationships and knows how to grow sales — this is the role.

This outside sales role is all about trust, relationships, and results. Based in the Portland metro area, you'll spend 4 days a week visiting customers, 1 day working from your home office, and will travel to our Snohomish greenhouse once a month. Ideal for a driven, retail-savvy salesperson who cares about doing great work and growing strong partnerships.

You’ll succeed in this role if you are:

• Passionate about creating personal connections and building strong relationships through in-person interactions.

• Self-directed, organized, and detail-oriented

• Motivated by growth, both personally and professionally, with a focus on driving business success.

• Experienced in retail or wholesale sales 

It helps if you also:

• Know the houseplant or  horticultural industry

• Have established customer relationships within the territory

• Feel at ease in fast-changing, less-structured environments
